Journey from Dar es Salaam through Nyerere, Mikumi and Udzungwa before unwinding in Zanzibar on an eleven-day adventure combining safari, forest exploration and beach relaxation.

Discover Tanzania’s southern wilderness and island coastline with Rafiki Adventures. This eleven-day journey brings together wildlife experiences in Nyerere and Mikumi, forest exploration in Udzungwa and leisure time in Zanzibar.

Day 1 – Dar es Salaam

Begin your journey in Dar es Salaam. Settle into your accommodation, relax after your travels and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Days 2–3 – Nyerere National Park

Travel to Nyerere National Park and explore its wilderness on guided game drives. Look out for wildlife, enjoy the changing landscapes and take time to photograph your surroundings.

After each day’s exploration, unwind at your accommodation.

Days 4–5 – Mikumi National Park

Continue to Mikumi for further wildlife discovery. Explore the park with your safari guide, enjoying game drives and opportunities to observe animals in their natural surroundings.

Experience a different safari setting before continuing towards Udzungwa.

Day 6 – Udzungwa Forest Experience

Travel to Udzungwa for a guided forest walk or hike along the route specified in your itinerary. Discover the green surroundings, observe plant life and look out for birds and other forest wildlife.

The walking route and duration will be arranged according to your confirmed programme and fitness level.

Day 7 – Transfer to Zanzibar

Leave the mainland safari destinations behind and travel to Zanzibar according to your arranged connections. On arrival, transfer to your accommodation and settle into the island atmosphere.

Days 8–10 – Zanzibar Beach & Leisure

Enjoy three days at a relaxed pace. Unwind beside the ocean, take beach walks and make the most of your accommodation and coastal surroundings.

Optional island excursions can be arranged separately, with availability and any additional charges confirmed before booking.

Day 11 – Departure

Check out and transfer to your departure point according to your travel schedule, bringing your wilderness and island journey to a close.
