Kidichi Persian Baths

Built in 1850 by Sultan Said for his Persian wife, in the heart of the plantation country.

Sultan Said and his second wife Bint Irich Mirza — granddaughter of the Shah of Persia — came here for hunting excursions and to oversee their plantations, and the bath-house let them refresh after the journey from town. It was built in the Persian style with elaborate stucco work and an underground furnace; the domed ceiling still holds a circle of small windows that once cast coloured light across the walls.
