Zanzibar International Film Festival

The Festival of the Dhow Countries, held in the first two weeks of July.

ZIFF celebrates the arts and cultures of the African continent, the Gulf States, Iran, India, Pakistan and the islands of the Indian Ocean — collectively the Dhow countries. Fiction and documentary productions compete for the Golden and Silver Dhow Awards, alongside music, theatre and dance performances, workshops and exhibitions. A large music programme features Tanzanian and international artists, and many events staged at the Old Fort and Forodhani Gardens are free to the public.

Village Panoramas reach about forty villages across Unguja and Pemba.
