Moshi

The gateway to Kilimanjaro — coffee plantations and Chagga cultural heritage.

Moshi is the starting point for most Kilimanjaro expeditions and provides all the support services trekkers need. The surrounding hills are dotted with coffee plantations run by local farmers, with guided tours from bean to cup. The Chagga people of the Kilimanjaro region share a rich heritage: traditional homes, the underground tunnels used during tribal wars, and the Chagga Live Museum.
