Built in 1904 on Creek Road — scented spices, seafood and fresh farm produce.

About halfway along Creek Road (now Benjamin Mkapa), the market is a good place for both shopping and sightseeing. It is full of fresh farm produce, but the most evocative products are the scented spices and the seafood. People from across Zanzibar bring their produce, while petty traders fill the stalls surrounding the main hall.
